Category: Science in Science-Fiction

I used to be a scientist, long ago, and now write science-fiction. Because of this I like to keep the science in my science-fiction as “real” as possible within the constraints of the story I’m telling.
After all, it is the science that makes science fiction not fantasy.
Whether its Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Geology, Anthropology, Astronomy or just some Applied Mathematics Science is all about us these days. Even reading these words would have been Sci-Fi barely a lifetime ago.
As science has developed so has Science Fiction, in these posts I try to reconcile some science fiction with science fact, and some science facts that came straight from science fiction.
